Hello!

Yesterday I had some company for lunch and we talked about some health issues. Conclusion of out conversation that mindset is everything and that you need be responsible for your own life.

A mindset can also be seen as incident of a person’s world view or philosophy of life.[citation needed]

A mindset may be so firmly established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviors, choices, or tools.[citation needed] The latter phenomenon is also sometimes described as mental inertia, “groupthink“, and it is often difficult to counteract its effects upon analysis and decision making processes.

In cognitive psychology, a mindset represents the cognitive processes activated in response to a given task (French, 2016).

This quote is from Wikipedia. According to Dr. Dweck we have  two types of mindset: fixed and growth mindset . She said:

Mindsets are beliefs—beliefs about yourself and your most basic qualities. Think about your intelligence, your talents, your personality. Are these qualities simply fixed traits, carved in stone and that’s that? Or are they things you can cultivate throughout your life?

People with a fixed mindset believe that their traits are just givens. They have a certain amount of brains and talent and nothing can change that. If they have a lot, they’re all set, but if they don’t… So people in this mindset worry about their traits and how adequate they are. They have something to prove to themselves and others.

People with a growth mindset, on the other hand, see their qualities as things that can be developed through their dedication and effort. Sure they’re happy if they’re brainy or talented, but that’s just the starting point. They understand that no one has ever accomplished great things—not Mozart, Darwin, or Michael Jordan—without years of passionate practice and learning.

Luckily for all of us who are trying to be better versions of  ourselves, mindset can be changed.  We can face our fears and step in to growth mindset (i.e. I don’t know how to do something but I will learn and try”.) and change our life.
